There is something magical about talking to someone who who is running their own show. They obviously
put more sweat equity into it, but they also seem to put their heart more into
their work. And a lot of them seem to embrace technology, such as Basecamp,
Instant Messaging, etc., which is another reason I can relate to them.
And there is another model coming into play to – a lot of companies hire a group of temporary workers, have them work on a project and then they move on. The Come Together and then move on. I have sued this model for some of my own projects (outside of Intuit) and it is great – cause it is a great way to meet other entrepreneurs and to work in teams. Another passion of mine. And it is a great way to meet people.

Scott:
Your post is so timely, thanks. Collaborative business is an awesome thing made easier by the Internet and Web 2.0 communities.
I have started a collaborative project using my blog as the platform. I am a multimedia producer and I reached out to an online community of multimedia producers to collaborate on creation of a tips booklet marketing tool.
Participants visit a blog post and submit their tips as comments to the post (1 tip per person). After we collect 100 or so tips the group can copy the comments (tips) to publish as a marketing tool (100 ways for explosive business growth using video).
The experiment is currently underway at, http://tinyurl.com/27rrxp
